As the lawyer glanced over the report, things were pretty clear before him.
“It was Rupali’s bracelet, that was found in the garden, by which Mr. .Suri was choked. The shoe mark was that of Mr. Rohit, which was found on the window ledge and in the backyard. This implies that Mr. Rohit somehow took Ms. Rupali’ s bracelet, with or without her consent, entered through the windows, banged Mr. Suri ’s head.
But this hadn’t satiated his thirst for blood of Mr. Suri. Furthermore, he tried the Bracelet around Mr. Suri’s neck, chocking his throat, thus rendering him dead,” the lawyer predicated.
“But according to Rupali’s statement, she never gave the waist bracelet to Mr. Rohit. He only gave it to Vineet, that to on account of him making a similar bracelet for his girlfriend,” the SP replied.
“Mr. Rohit must have stolen it form Rupali, but this again is not possible, because she doesn’t mentioned of theft of her waist bracelet, in her statements,” The lawyer predicted.
Are all the three involved in the murder, as all of them have vested interest in Mr. Suri’s estate? Said the SP questionably.
No, if Rupali have been involved she wouldn’t have let the use of her waist bracelet. It might be that Rohit and Vineet is the killer,” said the lawyer.
How can you say that? Asked the SP.
The lawyer smiled, mischievously.
Who have murdered Mr. Suri? The SP asked exasperated.
Come tomorrow morning at Mrs. Suri’s bungalow, and summon all the four executives to be present there by sharp 10am.
The SP left the chambers bewildered. In the morning, the SP and all the four executives were present at Mr. Suri’s bungalow. The lawyer entered at sharp 10am. And asked them to assemble at the dining room.
Today we I will announce who the killer is? The lawyer concluded.
Everyone became anxious of the announcement. Vineet and Rohit’s face went red.
“Vineet had taken the bracelet form Rupali few months ago on account of buying a similar bracelet for her girl friend. Mr. Vineet is it true or not?” the lawyer asked.
“Yes… yes.. Sir,” Vineet answered stammering.
“On Wednesday night, you insisted Rohit to come along with you to have further drink after ypu dropped Mr.Sui at his place.” Is true or not?
Sir, it was because….Mr. Vineet true or not? Just answer what I ask?
“Yes sir,” Vineet said. Drops of tear flowed form his eyes.
Now, will you reveal what exactly happened, or shall I proceed to the same? The lawyer furiously asked.
Vineet with his head down said nothing. He just subtly sobbed.
The lawyer proceeded; Vineet and Rohit, dropped Mr. Suri at his bungalow, while Rohit waited in the dining table. Lela helped Vineet, put Mr. Suri on bed. Vineet who opened the windows on pretext of fresh air. After that Vineet took Rohit at his house. There they took couple of more drinks. Rohit was excessively drunk. He fell asleep. Vineet went to Mr. Suri’s bungalow wearing Rohit’s shoes.
He went through the pipes leading to the window of Mr. Alok Suri’s room. He knew Mr,Suri would be alone in the room.
There was sour relation between Mr. Alok Suri and his wife, due to Mr. Alok Suri’ s close proximity with Rupali. Lela knew about the closeness between the two. This rendered Mr. Suri being abandoned by her wife.
Vineet had brought a small sledge hammer, along with the waist bracelet, exactly similar to that of Rupali’s. It was might be around 2.30am.Mr.Alok Suri was awake as he had to catch a flight. He was packing his bags, when Vineet entered form the window. Wasting no time, he banged on Mr. Suri’s head, rendering him fell unconscious.
Vineet easily had the access of keys of the locker, but to make it look like theft, he broke the lock. Mr. Alok Suri gained his senses subtly. Vineet took out the waist bracelet, tied it around Mr. Alok Suri’s neck tightly. It choked Mr. Suri’s throat, leading to his death.
Vineet was unsatisfied of the scare share that he got out of the mammoth estate. He thought killing Mr. Suri, would render the business in his hands, as Lela was incompetent to run such large business alone. He would easily manipulate Lela to lay the major functions of business into his hands. Besides, as knew the liaisons between Rupali and Mr. Alok Suri, he thought Rupali would be easy prey of falsely implicate into the murder. He also knew that Ruplai being a naïve, no one would easily believe of her committing the murder. His next target to falsely implicate into the murder was Mr. Rohit.
As Rohit was an outsider and he didn’t get anything, it may be easily established that out of jealousy, Rohit might commit the murder. Hence, Ruplai and Rohit were the prefect targets to falsely implicate, into the murder.
Moreover, he can easily brainwash Lela about Ruplai and Rohit, as Lela already had sour relationship with Rupali, and Rohit, as apparent, was an outsider, with no share in estate. Everything was planned in month’s advance, since he asked Rupali of her waist bracelet. On the fateful night, the visit to the bar made him detect the perfect opportunity to put his plan into action.
But as it is the law of nature, however sharp and cautious a killer is, he commits at least one mistake; and that mistake his impatience. Vineet knew Rupali was out of town, but still he went on with his plan.
Even if Rupali wasn’t convicted, Lela was the second safe target to implicate, as it might be easily established, that Lela out of resentment, of the relationship between his husband and Rupali. But here also things got astray as he forgot to erase the foot marks on the ledge and close the windows, while he left the room.
Vineet haw two plans simultaneously ran in his head. The one being, to falsely implicate Rupali and Rohit into the murder, and if their conviction isn’t easily established, then, Lela would be easily convicted, as she was alone in the house, when Mr. Suri death was reported.
The SP walk up to Vineet, slapped him as hard as he could. Vineet fell on his knees and confessed the same in affirmation, exactly as the Lawyer stated.
The SP thanked the shrewd lawyer for, helping him solve the mysterious, clod blooded murder case.
