The perpetual self criticism

Always leaving behind a sense of something missing;
Something my conscious mind is unable to comprehend;
The felling of being at loss creeps up again and again;
And my mind wanders in search of a direction
As if the confusion never ends;
Striving hard to stand tall as expectations from all around galore;
The perpetual self-criticism of not making it enough
The unbearable pressure upon me, takes its toll;
Makes me barren and rough.

‘Can you imagine what feels to be in my shoes is?’
‘Could you feel the numbness I feel?’
You might feel hurt at the comparison;
As you don’t find in it any reason;
Exasperated of the adverse remarks;
I look up in the sky for an escape;
A place where I choose to be who I want;
Where no long people try to strip me of myself;

As I sat beside the window;
The darkness of the night takes over me;
Drops of rain drench me subtly;
As I watch the rain;
I feel a mild pain;

As a glance down my feet;
My shadow staring at me;
His resentment makes me smile;
Belligerent, he always is
“Why you are so vulnerable?”
“Why you feel so terrible?”
“How long will it rain?”
“How long you would feel the pain?”

As I look outside the window;
Stray in my own thoughts;
I have no answers to his queries;
The smooth breeze of the rainy night;
Makes me feel a sudden chill;
The cold little drops of rain;
The silky breeze;
They want to something to say;
A message they want to convey;
Together they make me realize;
The classic teaching;
But apparently the wise;
For we are the god’s children;
Destined to tread our respective path;
Breaking the chains if unwarranted expectations;
Clearing the murky paranoia;

I free myself;
I attempt to fly high;
As I raise my head; I feel the emergence of dawn;
And the dark nights makes way for the sunlight;
As my shadow gets inside me;
Giving me a new lease of life;
As I walk out of my room;
In search of eternity;
I realized what I left;
Was my negativity.
